Starting new projects

I have to look for models for my entertainment class. And it take hours to do this and find the ones you like. It not bad will LA Casting because you fill in the blanks and then they send out the casting call to a large database that they have. And you get a ton of response back. The only thing is that sometime you get people the send back to anything and everything. Other then that this is a awesome service to be apart of.When I get this images shot I'll put some of them up. I also have and other project that is starting that is going to be fun for me to start. I will be making image about Mountain biking and it culture. I am a mountain biker my self so this is going to be awesome and I also feel that I'm going to get some great images out of this. I can't wait to start this project, I have not had a lot of time to ride with all the work for school but I think this is going to get me back on my bike. This are my bike and I real miss riding them like I use to. So like I said I think this project is going to help me get back on my bikes like I want to and need to. As always I will post some images after the shoot.

Entertainment Photo

This last assignment in entertainment was to shot an environmental portrait. So I took my model for a walk around the neighborhood to a spot that I have found about a week ago by my house. it is a cool little spot that I like. shoot it natural light again. It has become a thing for me lately. It was a cool shoot had a good time. They are not bad but I do need to push it a bit more with the models. Have them work for me more but my people shoots are getting better. I shoot more Architectural, Ad and Action sport. So the people standing still is a bit hard for me but I am getting to the point were I feel like I could shoot images for a person and be good with it. But when I do shoot people I like to keep it simple. My people shots are not really flashy for now but I am going to pick up the edge on my images.I like the feeling of this image with the flare across it. I really liked this spot a lot and want to revisit it again for another shoot in the future. The location in my itself not a lot of people to ask what are you doing. And that is always nice not to have.

Back to silver

If you remember a few weeks a go I put up some images of my Great grandma. I finally got time to print them in the darkroom on real silver not that inkjet stuff. I love the dark room so much but it is hard to get in there as much as I would like to with all the class. They look so much better the a inkjet to me. I had so much fun on Thursday night. I got a few extra hours and was like I have to go print tonight so I got to it and made some images the old fashion way in the soup. I suggest that if you have away to go print in a darkroom and know how to or want to learn how to go do it. You will remember what it is like or find out what it is like to print in the darkroom. It is awesome, it is like magic seeing that image come up for the first time. John Sexton talk about this in detail and he is so right. I remember it like it was yesterday and all you dark room junkies know what I'm talking about. One of the most awesome things in the world is the dark room. There is nothing like it. So get out the trays the red light and print. Then grab a beer kick back and look at you work. Hiro and I after printing Thursday night garbing a beer good times.

Lighting Demo with Robert Kerian

This last Wednesday we had a lighting demo with Robert Kerian at school on how to light motorcycles, it was a lot of fun and very informative. I would like to put up the images but at last they are not my images to do so with. Hhahah man that sounds dum. Anyway I really did learn a lot about shooting a motocyclce to a car and bigger. We also got to use a Briese Light on that shoot and that is a awesome light. To bad the Brises Light I hear is like $800 dollers to rent it, But if you can get the money for it. Do it that light is so dam Beautiful. this sounds like a ad for the Briese light but it is not. The big part to the story is that we got to see a good car shooter work and you do not always get to see that happen. Also get him to take the time to tell you what he is doing as he is doing.

I got asked by a friend to run some b&w film for her. So today I started running and it is dam fun. I have started running film more lately for my self so it was not a big deal to help her out. I enjoy running film myself it is relaxing for me. I like techie stuff. I was ran 3 rolls of 120 HP5 shot at 1600 iso in X-Tol 1:1 at 75 deg. for 11mins. They turned out well and she was happy with what she shoot. The Mamiya 7II was used on the shoot if you waited to know. Well talk to you soon.

Helping a friend

Alright so tonight I helped out a friend shoot a project that she is working on right now. It is about a roller rink in the city of Burbank, CA. The rink is a weird place because it feels like it is trapped in time and could not move forward. It was cool just a little weird.

O-SIDE WEEKEND

I got an assignment to shoot a person 65 or over. I thought to myself "I don't have any photo of my great grandma". I called up my mom and asked her to call my great grandma and see if she would be around so that I could come down to photograph her on Saturday. My GGM was going to be around so I jumped on the train Friday night and head down to Oceanside for the weekend. It was cool because I got to chill with my family who are a big part of my life and I got pic's of my GGM. When I get the film run I'll put up some of the images that I like.
